A note for my guest:
Since becoming a mother my career has had to be taken down a step as my new role as a mother has taken precedence. I truly appreciate how supportive you all have been. Your loyalty means the world to me. I understand my schedule may not fit yours any longer. This schedule is short-term and will change as Sammy gets older.  Much Love - Allison

Q&A from my clients

I reached out to my friends on IG and FB to see what you would like to know about me. Here are the questions you asked.

How many years have you been doing hair?

In 2007 I started beauty school in Rockford IL at Regency Beauty Institute. I was so eager to go to cosmetology school, it's all I really wanted to do. In September 2008 I graduated. During school I won many hair styling competitions. I knew updos and braids were my thing from an early start.

What do you use on your hair?

My shampoo and conditioner are from OLAPLEX. Every couple of weeks I use the clarifying shampoo No.4C from Olaplex. That shampoo is great for eliminating follicles clogged from impurities and product build-up.  Than before I dry my hair I use 25 MIRACLE MILK LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER from Mizani. This product provides a protective shield against heat damage and primes the hair for a perfect frizz-free finish. Along with that I spray some FLASH DRY from Frameis. Honestly I don't know how much it helps cut down on dry time but the smell is amazing plus it is humidity resistant, protecting hair from damage and breakage.  Then I use BAD BEHAVOIR from IGK before I use any hot tool or White Sands hairspray if I'm going to curl it. My favorite bonding oil is Olaplex N0.7

When did you decide to become vegan?

It was in July 2017. I eased into it by being mostly vegetarian first. Eating a vegan diet helps me eat clean. That ultimately was my goal when making this life style change.

Favorite vegan foods?

Often I am asked, "What do you eat then?". I eat almost everything you do. Now I try to stay away from super processed foods but I do eat a small number of fake meats from Gardein & LightLife.  So I still can have my favorites like "chicken" fajitas or nachos. I've learned how to make Tofu now so I LOVE IT. I eat lots of mushrooms, avocados, chickpeas. Another favorite is Falafel. I love it with a passion.
My favorite snacks are popcorn with hot sauce & nutritional yeast!

What kind of dog do you have?

We adopted Bourbon when he was 9 months old. The place we got him from said he was probably a terrier mix. He definitely has terrier traits. Later on, we found out about a Mountain Fiest breed. They are squirreling dogs from the south. If anyone knows anything about Bourbon, it is that he's passionate about squirrels. Also, Bourbon got his name from his home state of Kentucky (where bourbon is made). So the odds are in favor of him being a Mountain Fiest.

Where is your next vacation?

Can you believe it when I say I don't have one planned! The world has been a lil unpredictable lately and BIG travel seems rather stressful to me right now. The last year we have really enjoyed being closer to nature. Many camping trips were done. I'm looking forward to traveling with our baby! I can't wait to take our lil one on snowboard trips, camping, and of course hiking!

What will you call baby Samuel?

As many of you may know we named our child after his father, Samuel. And no baby Samuel isn't a Junior...he's actually the 5th. So we will not be calling him Junior but some have been calling him Cinco (five in Spanish). It's adorable and I am most definitely ok with that nickname, Some have chosen to call him Elliott which is his middle name. I have been trying my hardest to call baby Sammy and father Sam.

Will you be returning to work after you have baby?

Most definetly. My schudule will be more part time. I will have to adjust it as I get the swing of things. I am trying hard to have mornings and evenings and some wkends.
